Wanda B. Cooper
February 6, 1927 - December 15, 2019
Wanda B. Cooper was born on February 6, 1927 to John and Annie (Underwood) Collingsworth in Brady, TX, the second of three daughters. She passed away on December 15, 2019 with family at her side.
She married Lt. James W. Cooper on February 7, 1944. They were stationed in England, Germany, and Alaska. They both loved fishing, camping, and boating and had many adventures. She also had a green thumb and was happiest when she was playing in the dirt and growing beautiful flowers and luscious vegetables. She loved sharing her bounty with family and friends. She was also a sports fan, always cheering for the Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks. She was really torn when they played against each other.
After her husband was discharged from the Army/Aircorp, they returned to Salem. They both worked at Fairview Training Center where she was a supervisor and owned/operated a nursery, supplying plants to local garden centers.
Wanda was pre-deceased by her husband, parents, her oldest sister and nephew. She is survived by a sister and cousin in TX, nieces and nephews in WA, OR, CA, TX, MT, and SC.
A Celebration of her life is planned for this spring when flowers are blooming.
