Tom D Stuart
June 16, 1930 - November 10, 2019
Tom D. Stuart was born June 16, 1930 to Sam and Zella Stuart of Scio, Oregon. He attended Aumsville and Salem High school before entering the U.S. Naval Reserve. He married Emma G. Fry of Aumsville, Oregon October 29, 1950 before he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was sent to Korea during the Korean War with A Company, 434th Engineer Construction Battalion, 6th Army. After his discharge, he worked at various jobs, but landed at Northwest Natural Gas Company, Salem, Oregon and retired some 35 years later. He was an avid outdoorsman, and was also very involved with Antique Powerland Heritage Park and Branch 15 of the Early Gay Gas Engine and Tractor Association. He was a hobby machinist, making working scale models of antique tractors and stationary engines. He is survived by wife Emma Stuart, son Sam Stuart, daughter Frances Stuart, brother Don Stuart and sister Sara Cox. There will be a Celebration of Life at the Truck Museum located at Antique Powerland Heritage Park at 12:00 on November 30, 2019. In leu of flowers, it is requested donations be made to Antique Powerland Heritage Park or Early Day Gas Engine and Tractor Association, Branch 15, 3995 Brooklake Road, Brooks, Oregon, 97303.
