Susan Marie (Gabriel) White

December 24, 1944 - January 16, 2020


Susan Marie (Gabriel) WhiteSusan White, 75, died on January 16, 2019 in Salem, Oregon.  Susan was born in Salem, Oregon on December 24, 1944.  She was the oldest child of Thomas B. and Rosemarie Gabriel and graduated from North Salem High School in 1963.  She attended Oregon State University and then married David R. White of Salem.  She and Dave lived for many years in Hoquiam, Washington.  They also lived n Sept. Isles, Quebec, Tumwater, WA and Highland, UT before settling in Albany, Oregon, and then Salem. 
Susan loved people and had a special place in her heart for special education students.  She worked for many years for the Albany School District as a special education assistant.  Susan is survived by her son, Kevin White of Hoquiam, WA, grandchildren Stephen Patton and Kayla Richey of Hoquiam, WA; son-in-law Kyle Richey of Hoquiam, WA, sister Nancy Pierce Greg of Bend, OR; brother Ed Gabriel Robyn of Powell Butte, OR,; sister-in-laws Debi Gabriel of Salem, Laurel White of Portland, and Lydia White of Portland; nieces Teresa Gabriel Salem, Diana Schweitzer Paul Salem, Erin  Cochran Chris of Portland; Jodell White of Portland, Elizabeth Cuyler of Portland; nephews Ryan Pierce Hope of Seminole, FL., DJ Pierce DeAnna of Bend, OR; Rian White of Portland, and Thomas White Gina of Ohio.  Stepmother Norma Gabriel and cousins Jerry Ackerson Suzanne, Tim Ackerson Luella, Rich Hagedorn Claudia, Chuck Gabriel, Jay Gabriel, and Michelle Gabriel. 
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband David, her daughter Wendy Richey, cousin Joan Klohk, and her beloved dog Prissy. 
The family wished to thank the Caregivers at Sweet Bye and Bye and Coral Springs and Providence Benedictine Hospice for their compassionate care of Sue.  At her request, no services will be held.  Assisting the family is Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.

We will miss you and think if you often.  Tell Uncle Dave and Wendy that we love and miss them-- I'm sure they are excited to get their favorite foods they've been missing!  The girls say they love you!
