Sgt. Earl Jerome Harper lost his battle of heart disease and Covid 19 on April 28 at the age of 74. He died “comfortably numb” at his home in Salem, OR.
Earl was born to Floyd and Bertha Harper in Blackstone, VA on June 29, 1946 where he grew up and joined the military at age 17. Earl served both in the Marines and Air Force, he was a prisoner of war and earned a Purple Heart.
Earl has left behind his life partner of 43 years Cynthia L. Goll, his son Earl Goll, his daughter Nancy Harper and his adopted daughter Breanna Morris. His love of the music by Pink Floyd and the concerts he had in his home with his dog named “Floyd” were his life passion. He will be missed by his family and all that knew him.
