Ruth Lesmeister

February 16, 1929 - February 1, 2016

Mom was born Feb. 16th, 1929, in Salem, OR to Alvin & Myrta Kostenborder. She had a sister Mary and a brother and best buddy her entire life, Bill. Part of her childhood was growing up on Lake Labish, she had wonderful memories of Brother Bill and her working the peppermint fields their parents farmed.
In 1951 Mom met our Dad, Larry Lesmeister at the Wooden Shoe in Salem, they fell in love and were married 3 months later.  At our Father’s passing in 2010, they had been married 59 years.  They raised 7 kids, Betty Greenman, Joe Lesmeister (Cheryl), Bonnie Pearson (Tom), Connie Messmer (Kirk), Cathy Lee (Jim Perigo), Rita Harris (Harlow), Cindy Lesmeister and have 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren with the 6th on the way.
Mom worked hard and played even harder.  She had lots of close friends and family that loved her dearly.  She worked 24 years for the Dept. of Revenue. In retirement, Mom and Dad spent time traveling with friends and enjoying everything they had worked so hard for.
Mom did a wonderful job of providing for and raising 7 children.  We will miss her deeply.
“If you could train yourself to love a feeling, one that could benefit you most right now, it would be the feeling of not knowing where you’re going. That’s the feeling that will come right before you find yourself somewhere amazing”

Thank you to our Mom for all the love and fun she brought into her childrens lives.  She touched the lives of many of our friends as well.  She loved a good joke and kept her humor until the end.  A huge thank you to Rita, Connie, Bonnie, Cindy & Joe for keeping Mom safe and loved in her own home.  Love you all!  P.S. Mom give Dad a kiss from all of us xoxoxo.
