Richard F. Titus

November 11, 1939 - September 6, 2018

Richard F. Titus, age 78 passed away surrounded by his family on September 6, 2018. Born on November 11, 1939 in Union, Oregon to Gertrude and Marvin Titus, he was raised with his 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He graduated from Union High School in 1957 where he lettered in both basketball and football. He served in the Navy from 1963 to 1966 as a Radioman based in San Diego, California. While serving in the Navy he met and fell in love with Jill Carleyann Hermanson. They married on January 2, 1964 and were married 40 years until her passing in October 2004.

After honorably serving his country, Richard and his wife returned to Oregon where he worked as an electrician at Prowler Industries in Pendleton. He and Jill were blessed with 2 sons and 2 daughters that they raised in Pendleton until 1985.  Then the family moved to the outskirts of Salem where they finished raising their children on a country property.
Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, coin collecting, all things western, antiques, watching football and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his great story telling ability and his quick wit and sense of humor. 

He is survived by his 4 children, Mike, Steve, Sonya and Shari along with 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Services will be 9:00 a.m. Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service followed by a 12:30 p.m. burial at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Jill.
