Melanie Ann Hill

August 7, 1957 - June 14, 2021


Melanie Ann Hill passed away June 14, 2021, of natural causes in her Salem home at age 63.

 Preceded in her passage were her loving parents Dick and Billijean Hill; and, is survived by devoted sons, Nic and Alex Tkachuk; sister Suellen (Hill) Girard (Tanner); and, brothers Lloyd (Kim), Robert (Marypat), Nathan, David (Karen) Hill and Daniel (Jessica) Patterson-Hill; among them are several beautiful nieces and nephews, Annie (Matt), Leona, Justin (Ashley), Evelyn, Gennaro, Katherine, Elizabeth, Matt, Andrew, Lars, Bendik, Juni, Erica, Nichole, Tristan, Cameron, Sophia, and Josephine.

 Melanie was an active philanthropist and took part in many charitable endeavors, including; The Oregon Symphony; animal rescue; Daughters of the American Revolution; Horses of Hope; progressive democratic causes; environmental awareness activities; women’s advancement programs; and public television and radio support.

 As a proud Viking and 1975 graduate of North Salem High School, Melanie moved onto Lewis and Clark College and then to a career as a Certified Public Accountant, joining the impressive companies of Arthur Anderson, Nike, Merix Corporation and Lightfleet.

Melanie loyally cared for her mother, Billijean, and they loved playing card and board games, piecing together puzzles, paying attention to politics, reading books, attending plays, going to concerts, and joyfully exploring near and far on trips and travels. As avid musical theater lovers, their hearts soared when singing along to Rodgers and Hammerstein. Simply living life together in wonderful harmony and happiness.

Melanie is surrounded in love by life-long friends and her family who will forever cherish her loving spirit.
