Marcia Mosolf Brundage Pickens

September 22, 1939 - April 4, 2021

Marcia Mosolf Brundage PickensHeaven gained another angel as Marcia Pickens died peacefully in the presence of her family in her home. Her family surrounded her during her last days, joyfully reminiscing and sharing great memories.
Marcia Mosolf was born to James and Kathryn Mosolf in Tacoma, Washington, the younger sister of Marjorie. The family moved to Salem where she graduated from North Salem High class of '54. She then went on to attend OSU and pledged Kappa Kappa Gamma. While at Oregon State, she met Denny Brundage, and they were married in 1959. Marcia committed herself to making a home for her family and caring for their three children, remaining a true Beaver Believer for the rest of her life. In 1986, she decided to pursue a career in cosmetology, spending many years as a hairdresser at Harvey Loveall's Hair Salon, where she came to love her work, clients and their families. Denny and Marcia later divorced.
Marcia went on to find love again with Tom Pickens, whom she married in 1989. Fittingly, the two wed on Cupid Court in McMinnville, OR, after dating for only 6 months. Their marriage experienced a true test of love when Marcia was diagnosed with breast cancer in their very first month together, which she successfully battled. Finally cancer free, Marcia and Tom decided to embrace their health and traveled to several U.S. states, Canada and Europe before eventually moving to Central Oregon, where their log cabin on Big River Drive became a hub of love, warmth and hospitality for everyone who visited. Of all the destinations they traveled to over many years, Hawaii captured their hearts, and they would eventually move there full time, living on the Big Island in Kona. When Tom's health issues became problematic, they later moved back to Salem to be nearer to family and friends.
Besides her older sister, Marjorie Wilson, Marcia is survived by her daughter Cinda Ritson (Bob), and sons David Brundage (Dameron) and Jim Brundage (Dawn), along with stepchildren Darcie Jones (Bob), Dianna Novelli (Claudio) and Dan Pickens (Yvonne). Her legacy continues in her 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and well-loved nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice for their gentle attention and care during Marcia's last days, along with the continuous care of family members. We are grateful beyond words.
