Leonce Mitchell Lambert Jr.

May 10, 1949 - March 22, 2021


Leonce Mitchell Lambert Jr. passed away on March 22, 2021 at the age of 71. He was born May 10, 1949 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island to Leonce Sr. and Jeanne (Monahan) Lambert. Mitch was raised in Rhode Island until moving to Salem in 1967. From 1971-72 Mitch served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Mitch was an avid collector, especially sports cards. He loved sports, making collages, fishing and camping. In 1973, Mitch spent a year camping in the Coast Range near Grand Ronde and was friends with the Chief of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde. Mitch loved music and even traveled with the Grateful Dead on tour around the country. Mitch operated an antiques and collectibles business in Salem and Virginia.
Mitch was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard and sister Holly. Mitch is survived by his son Leonce Mitchell Lambert III, daughter-in-law Jen, granddaughter Hailey, siblings Rob Lambert, Kathy Stroberg and Judi McLaughlin, a dozen nieces and nephews and many friends.
A Celebration of Mitch’s life will be Wednesday, March 31 at 11: 00 AM at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
