Lawrence Jones, Sr.

January 5, 1938 - July 1, 2021


Lawrence  Jones, Sr.Lawrence Lee Jones Sr., age 83, left this world on July 1, 2021. His precious soul being called home, by his Heavenly Father, as his work here on earth was finished. 
 
Brother Larry (grandad), as he was affectionately called by many, was born on January 5 1938, in Dexter New Mexico to Fred and Maudie (Bradshaw) Jones. Raised in Texas, Larry attended school and graduated from Iredell, Tx.  In 1960, he joined The Air Force, where he served in Korea and married the love of his life Lou Jean Johnston on June 25.  After the Air Force, he attended Independent Baptist College in Dallas Tx, where he earned his Bachelor's degree.
 
Brother Larry loved the Lord and went into full time ministry after finishing college. He Pastored churches in Texas, New Mexico, California, Montana and Indian reservations. He worked for Montana Power Company (P.P.E.) in Colstrip Montana for many years. Retiring in 2000, he moved to Sandy Oregon, where he lived his remaining years. 
 
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Lou Jean (Johnston), his parents Fred and Maudie Jones, Brothers Don Jones, Wayne Jones, Neil Jones, Johnny Jones and sister Shirley (Jones) Sanders.
 
He leaves behind, but is awaiting in heaven, daughter Lynne C. (Jones) Lawson, son Lawrence Lee Jones Jr. and daughter Laurie M. (Jones) Long. Brother Ronald Jan Jones. 12 Grandchildren (Lynne) Lonnie, Laurel, Lindsey, Leandra, Daniel, Laila (Larry Jr) Victoria, Lawrence lll (Laurie) Dilara, Nejla, Sean, Poppy and 18 great-grandchildren. 
 
Lawrence was an example of commitment, loving Jesus Christ, wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and everyone surrounding him.

A public Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, July 15,2021 at Willamette National Cemetery in Happy Valley, Oregon.
