Kimberly Ann Lofton

May 9, 1986 - July 10, 2018

Kimberly Ann Lomax Lofton died on July 10, 2018 in Salem of accidental drowning.

Kimberly was born May 9, 1986 in Salem, Oregon to Jaqueline S. Ballard and Verlin Lomax.

Due to circumstances beyond her understanding, she and her siblings entered the state foster care system at a young age.  She lived with Trina (Hawes) Comerford and with Carl and Dee Smock for many years and Grace Shewmake for one year.   Kim graduated from Perrydale High School in 2005. She was able to transition to being on her own at the age of 19.  Kim had two little girls, Autumn and Jasmine whom she loved and cared for,  but was left with no choice but to selflessly give up for adoption.  Shortly after, she was reunited with and married Patrick Lofton on September 19, 2015 in Mitchell, Oregon.   Together they had two boys Zaiden and Kyler.  Kim made a career of her love to dance and was able to help support their small family.  She moved to Independence in February 2018 to be closer to friends and family.  Kim was a bright light wherever she went, making instant friends along the way.  She was a very hard worker, and most of all she loved being a wife and mother.  Her boys were her world!

Kim is survived by her husband Patrick Lofton and two sons Zaiden and Kyler Lofton of Independence, her daughters Autumn and Jasmine of Oregon, her parents: Jackie Ballard (Marcos Molino) of Independence, Verlin Lomax of Dallas, her brother; Michael Pineau of Dallas, her foster families of Trina Comerford, Carl Smock and Grace Shewmake, her foster siblings, and many, many beloved friends.

Kim was preceded in death by her sister Angela Marie Ballard on October 21, 2004, Dee Smock and by her grandparents.

A Celebration of Kim’s Life will be held at Pelton Park Campground at a later date.

With much love,

Our hearts break for the loss of Kim. We hope you find some comfort knowing that someone so special will never be forgotten, and some strenght in the memories you have.

Oh the memories my family has with Kim, she loved playing & helping with the triplets, many other cousins & many other foster siblings as they all grew together. She was a bright light and a ball of energy for the years she was with our family and beyond. Take care of mom (Dee) as she will be sure to look after you! RIP sister
