Irvin D. "Rich" Reinhard
November 6, 1937 - January 3, 2019
January 2019 Dick Reinhard of Salem passed away peacefully in his home. He was 81 years old and was surrounded by loved ones and friends over his last few days. Dick had 3 children, 2 grand kids, 2 great grandkids, a brother and nieces and nephews who loved him.
Dick was a native Oregonian and after graduating high school he served in the Air Force working as a technician on radios and bomb sights. After the military he married, had kids and made a living as a self-employed entrepreneur. His desire for hard work had him dabbling in many business adventures, from bagged ice, home heating oil, farming, service stations, and to his pride and joy of harvesting and packaging moss for the floral industry.
He had his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying all over in his plane. He lived a full life. Some of his favorite travels would be to see his brother in Puerto Vallarta. Those 2 brothers would just have a hoot hitting the town.
Dick’s passions were family, friends and dancing. He was a life-time member of the Eagles and Elks and wouldn’t miss a night of socializing and dancing. He enjoyed being a jokester with his great one-liners, laughing and just being around people.
Thank you to the Eagles and Elks for honoring his birthday bash as a celebration of life while he was still with us. It really meant a lot to him to see the turnout of friends and family.
Keep on dancing Dick- we all love you ♥
