Barbara Loraine (Lindow) Hunt
May 28, 1940 - October 19, 2015
Barbara Loraine Lindow Hunt had many loves, of course the first six were, her children Trina Miller and Chris Hunt, husband Chuck Hunt, granddaughter Annalise Miller and grandsons Nic Davidson-Hunt and Austin Hunt. Then it was all children and education, especially teaching, that was her passion. While at Mill Park Elementary in the David Douglas School District Portland, she worked with Dr. Dunn from the University of Nevada on a learning Assessment Center. She created a program where she was able to teach a child to read in an hour. I observed this on many occasions. The students often went from Ds to A and Bs in very short order. Her program was her pride and joy, but she could get very few adults to comprehend it.
She was a member of Willamette Agate and Mineral Society, where she enjoyed the many exhibits and handicrafts, especially at the club’s April show in Rickreall. She was also a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Salem.
After fighting cancer for the past two years Barbara finally took Jesus hand and left the pain and suffering behind. She went to join all the family and the Heavenly Father in Paradise.
A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 pm, Monday, November 16, 2015 at Holy Cross Lutheran, Salem.
