Franklin "Kurtis" Koch

Franklin "Kurtis" Koch passed away Sunday, April 8th, 2018 at 8:05 am. After battling a lifetime of chronic illness, he is finally free to be with our savior. He was born in Riverside, California on May 25, 1963, and moved to Monitor, Oregon as a small child. Kurt spent the majority of his life in the Silverton/Salem area. He attended Victor Point Elementary School, Waldo Middle School, McKay High School, and Chemeketa Community College. He worked as a nursery man for most of his early years and inherited the family business, "Dreamland Green Houses" in Silverton, Oregon. He later worked at Salem Health Foods as a manager and nutrition specialist. Kurt was a talented guitar player and enjoyed writing music, hunting, fishing, playing games and working on computers. He is survived by his 4 children: Kayla Gustafson, Amanda Anthony, Myriah Wilk, Brian "Scott" Koch and 6 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 15th at 5:00 pm at Main St. Bistro, located at 201 E. Main St. Silverton, OR 97381. There will also be a small ceremony to spread his ashes on Friday, May 25th at Belcrest memorial park at 5:30 pm.
