Abbigail L. Tuers

March 27, 1982 - March 17, 2018

Surrounded by family and friends, Abby passed away at home in Salem, Oregon on Saturday, March 17, 2018. Abby was 35 years old.  Carrying on Abby’s memory and her good work are her children Jonathan Jeffries Tuers and Angela Hope Tuers, her loving partner in life and crime, Matthew Halbrook, Matt’s children, Gunder Halbrook and Valerie Kent, and her two brothers Christopher Tuers and Daniel Tuers, Jr.
Throughout her life, Abby wore many hats and she definitely ran the show no matter what hat she was wearing.  In recent years she managed her household and the family businesses with Matt. She was active within her community volunteering at the Miss Oregon Pageant, actively participating in a cancer support group, and organizing fund raising events for families in need even as she was in the final stages of her own cancer. She finished her GED and was well on her way to finishing a degree in business so she could use that knowledge in the family business. Abby loved to garden and especially enjoyed going on motorcycle trips with Matt and their friends.
Abby was a loving and caring mother and friend and always took care of the people she knew. A beautiful young woman, she was a loving mother and great friend always protecting those she loved. She helped others find balance and would never give up on herself or on her family and friends. She was a warrior until the end.
You could always count on Abby to tell you exactly what she thinks. She was strong-minded and fun- loving and had a great sense of humor.  If you met her, you would never forget her.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday, March 23, 2018, at 3pm at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service, 605 Commercial Street, SE, Salem, Oregon 97301. There will be a gathering following the Celebration at the Welcomaaa Club, 3825 D Street NE, Salem, Oregon 97301
In lieu of flowers, please contribute to and/or participate in a Relay for Life in honor of Abby.
