Paul E. Lemmon

December 22, 1947 - December 6, 2017

Paul was born in Salem, and adopted and raised by Lloyd and Evelyn Lemmon.  Paul attended St. Vincent de Paul School and Serra Catholic High School.  He graduated from Western Oregon University.  He joined the United States Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War.  He served in the Philippines, Guam, Vietnam and California.  He was honorably discharged.

Paul was employed in Transportation Management at Greyhound and Salem Public Schools.  He was the owner of Poor Richard’s Pipe and Tobacco.  He married Karen Gimblin in 1968 at Travis AFB, California.  They lived in California and Oregon and enjoyed many travels.  His favorite place to visit was Camp Sherman, Oregon.  He was a long time member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Salem.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Evelyn Lemmon and his son Matthew Lemmon.  He is survived by his wife, Karen; daughter, Anne Wilson (Jacob); and 4 grandchildren.  He is also survived by his brother, Jerry of Anchorage and stepbrothers, David Kremer of Salem and Norman Kremer of Beaverton.

The family would like to thank Dr. William Gillespie of the Salem Clinic, the Salem VA Clinic and the VA Home Based Primary Care Team and our team from Mid-Willamette Valley Hospice.  We couldn’t have done it without your fine care.

The family requests memorial donations in Paul’s name be directed to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church or Society or to Mid-Willamette Valley Hospice.

Visitation is planned from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Thursday December 14th at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.  A Mass of Christian Burial is planned for 11:00 am, Friday, December 15th at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Salem.  Recitation of the Holy Rosary will precede the mass at 10:30 am, a reception will follow the mass.  Graveside Service will take place at Restlawn Memory Gardens at 1:30 pm.
