Miguel and Brixa Ruvalcaba

September 29, 1969 - October 28, 2017

Miguel Angel Ruvalcaba Cano, beloved son of Refugio Ruvalcaba Cano and Doroteo Rubalcaba, passed over to the better side with his beloved daughter, Brixa Sonora, on Saturday, October 28, 2017 due to complications with smoke inhalation.

Born September 29, 1969, in Guadalajara, Mexico, Miguel was the eldest of six children.  As the eldest, he had many responsibilities yet was happy to serve and never complained.  Miguel had a gentle temperament and was delighted with just living life.  He adored his parents, siblings, and cousins so much: They meant the world to him.

As an adult, Miguel enjoyed living in California.  Afterwards, he touched many lives, when he arrived in Oregon in 1995. with his kind and giving heart.

He had a passion for playing guitar and singing in his mariachi band at St Patrick's church in Independence...

He treasured animals, enjoyed gardening, appreciated the beach, and reveled in working on trucks.  He loved his wife and children- second only to his love for his savior.

Miguel was a proud Catholic and lived a virtuous life- a life that very few can emulate.  His parents should be proud.  Everyone who knew him agrees that sometimes, in life, there are just those people.  The ones who exhibit all the qualities of the meek:   agreeable, kind, pleasant, courteous, charming, warm-hearted, empathetic, friendly, considerate, and just plain lovely.  Miguel was one of those people. He will, most definitely, inherit the earth. (Matthew 5:5)

He is survived by: his wife (Heather Reneé), his daughters Azaydia & Kambrielle, his sons Tayvrix & Daxen, his mother Refugio Ruvalcaba Cano, his father Doroteo Ruvalcaba, his brothers Juan Antoline & Doroteo Jr., and his sisters  Marta, Monica, and Jovita.

Special thanks to the community of Keizer -including; schools, first responders- EMT/Fire/Police, Red Cross, Salem hospital, Randall hospital, neighbors, friends, and family for their wonderful support.

Brixa Sonora Ruvalcaba, beloved daughter of Miguel Angel Ruvalcaba and Heather Renee Ruvalcaba, passed over to the better side with her beloved father, Sunday, October 29, 2017 due to complications with smoke inhalation.

Brixa was born on July 21, 2011 in Salem, Oregon 18 months after her sister Azaydia, The sisters eventually became inseparable. Less than two years later, her brother, Tavrix, joined them.  The three became Los Tres Amigos.  When twins, Dax and Kambri, were born, she delighted in loving and caring for them. She had a significant role in life for she bonded the siblings together.  Her absence will have colossal impact on this family and community.

She loved all things pink, arts & crafts, dancing, swimming, cheering, kayaking, reading, sleepovers, and her cell phone.  She loved to walk around writing on a clipboard. She loved school and learning.  Recently, she picked up on the art of kayaking. Lucky to be born in July, she got to enjoy summer parties.  This year she got a pink kayak.  Everyone says that her big, brown, doe eyes and her medium brown locks of loose curls were her signature look. She relished in being pampered and made-up by her teenage cousins.

Peeping through the troop of five little faces, she was a light to everyone’s dark day. The smiles were sometimes peppered with inquisitiveness of her many questions and thirst for knowledge. At such a young age her personality was still developing, yet the light of heaven shone through her eyes reminding us of the vulnerability and preciousness of children.

A girl on this earth for only six short years, made a lifetime of an impact throughout all the tears.
A girl on this earth for only six short years, somehow let us know we must cast away our fears.

Brixa Sonora is survived by her mother (Heather Renee), sisters Azaydia and Kambrielle, brothers Tayvrix and Daxen, cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. She was preceded in death by her father, Miguel Angel.

Special thanks to the community of Keizer -including; schools, first responders- EMT/Fire/Police, Red Cross, Salem hospital, Randall hospital, neighbors, friends, and family for their wonderful support.

Public visitation for Miguel and Brixa will be from 10:00am to 8:00pm Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service (605 Commercial St. SE).  Public funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 2530 Boone Rd. SE in Salem.

Oh Brixa do I love you. For ever and ever. Aunty Denise

That is beautiful and true! I will love you both forever and will fall asleep every night to the vision of your faces and memories of your love!

We are so glad we just made the trip to Oregon and got to see all of you. Love, prayers and hugs.

We are so very sorry for your loss.  My husband enjoyed talking to Miguel and I miss the high fives and conversations that I shared with Brixa.  Those beautiful big brown eyes and ohhhh those cheekbones.  She was such a polite little angel.  Our street is so quiet now and that is absolutely devastating.  I miss seeing, holding and of course feeding your family kitty cat but am glad that you got him back.  If you need anything please know that our door is always open and all you have to do is pet your way through the abandoned kitty cats to get to it.  Hugs to everyone
