Rhonda D Nungester

November 20, 1954 - November 5, 2017

With deep sadness, the family of Rhonda D. Nungester Catterson, 62, announce her passing on November 5, 2017.

Rhonda was born November 20, 1954 in Salem Oregon, the second of four children, to parents Harry and Ruth Catterson.

Always the life of the party, Rhonda had a huge heart and was an amazing mother, wife, sister and friend.  Although in the last years of her life dementia took her ability to communicate, Rhonda never lost her sense of humor and her rebellious spirit.  Rhonda loved the outdoors and had an amazing green thumb.  Throughout her life Rhonda lived in Oregon, California, Florida, New York and Pennsylvania, but no matter where she went she made every place a home for her and her family.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ruth.  She is survived by her loving husband Cary Nungester, her only child Sarah Andrew McHenry and her adoring grandchildren, Noah McHenry and Aubrey McHenry.  Rhonda’s memory is also cherished by her siblings Connie Ralph, Greg Patty Catterson and Jeff Karon Catterson, along with extended family members and many friends.

A memorial service for Rhonda will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 17, 2017 at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Services, 605 Commercial St SE, Salem, OR 97301 in the south chapel.

You were loved by many and will be missed!

Rhonda was like a sister to me in the glorious 70s & on. Lots of fond memories even in the last few years. Was so damn funny at the Iris Festival watching her grabbing the candy out of the street which she always gave to Ryleigh Funny part was Rhonda loved the candy. She was so proud of her Sarah , always bragging about her girl the attorney. And those 2 knuckleheads Noah & Arlene. Very proud Grandma . She was also proud of her son in law Drew, the man who always was there for her Pennsylvania family. Rhonda was blessed the last years of her life to have Cary by her side. A finer man I will never meet. So for now your Mexican brothers out . See you in the future my sister from another Mr. Love you
