Shirley Rae Mannocci

April 22, 1938 - October 26, 2017


Shirley Rae Mannocci passed away peacefully at her home on October 26, 2017, she was 79.
She was born to Perry and Darlene Williamson in Nampa, Idaho on April 22, 1938, the oldest of 3 children.
She grew up in Ontario, Oregon and graduated in 1956, salutatorian in her class at Ontario High School.
She married Jack Frost and together raised their three children, Cindy, Marcia and Steven.  She later worked at the Daily Argus Observer newspaper and was quickly promoted to advertising manager.
In 1984 Shirley moved to Salem, Oregon and worked in advertising at the Statesman Journal newspaper.
While attending a singles event at her church, she met Carlo Mannocci and they married June 10, 1990.  
Together Shirley and Carlo traveled and explored the world, including many trips to Australia and Italy visiting Carlo’s family.
Shirley had many hobbies.  She was an accomplished seamstress, sewing her young family’s clothing and later creating her own sewing business.  She designed many of her own fashions and created beautiful matching dresses for her 3 granddaughters.  Besides her domestic accomplishments, Shirley loved to challenge herself with outdoor adventures.  She was a pilot, enjoyed rafting, the oceans and she loved Hawaii.
For the past 25 years, Shirley devoted her creative talents to painting.  She was devoted to studying art and used mediums of oils, acrylics, chalk, watercolors, pencils and collage. She continually sought new challenges and growth through art, Her paintings, as her life, were richly and vividly colored in oranges, reds, gold, and browns. 
She is known in the art community through her website, “In Spirit Art". 
Shirley is survived by her devoted husband and best friend, Carlo Mannocci, her three children, Cindy Frost, Marcia Moore and Steven Frost, her brother Lucky Williamson and in laws Casey Moore and Jessica Sims.
She was devoted to her three granddaughters, Renee Smoot, Laura Coyier and Mikayla Coyier and was delighted to have her two great-grandchildren Aria Rae Smoot and Jayden Smoot.
Shirley will be remembered by her countless friends as a joyous, smiling and courageous woman.  Many of her friendships were made more than 60 years ago and were one of her greatest treasures. 
Thank you to David, Anna, Kathy, Marilyn and Keely who were devoted to her.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday November 11th 2017 , at 2:00 PM at  Willamette Valley Vineyards  8800 Enchanted Way SE, Turner, OR 97392. Assisiting the family is Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Makindu Children’s Center at Makindu.org  or  Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at JDF.org
