Harlon E. Jackson
December 22, 1931 - October 29, 2017
Salem – Harlon was born in Springview, Nebraska to Emory and Otelia Jackson. The family moved to California when he was six and at age twelve to Silverton. He attended schools there and married Thelma Powell 63 years ago.
Cars were Harlon’s life. Show cars, race cars and everyday cars. He was a heavy equipment operator for Mike Porter for 20 years and for Valley Equipment for 15 years. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Alaska, hunting, fishing, square dancing, bowling and most of all racing.
Harlon is survived by: his wife, Thelma; son, Randy (Beckie); daughter, Darcy Jackson French (Greg); grandchildren, Dan (Heather) Jackson, Amy Jackson, Stephanie (Brandon) Neese, Katie and Kristie Waldroop; great-grandson, Nathaniel Jackson and brother, Don of Jefferson, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Wyvonna and brother, Norval.
Services will be 2:30 PM on Monday, November 6, 2017 at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service with private interment at Belcrest Memorial Park.
