Donald A. Bremer
February 24, 1922 - October 23, 2017
Donald Arthur Bremer, 95, went home to his Heavenly Father on October 23, after a brief hospital stay.
He was born in Chicago, IL, on February 24, 1922, first son to Daniel and Mabel (Algaard) Bremer and was raised in Muskegon, MI. In 1940 he enlisted in the US Navy and proudly served on the USS Enterprise CV-6 as a Flight Deck Chief during World War II. He remained in the Navy until 1954.
He worked at Rocketdyne, before joining his brothers in starting a business, Dew Foam, a foam plastic manufacturing company in Van Nuys, CA. He married in 1971 and lived in San Jose, CA, then moved to Salem, OR in 1982, and later divorced. He married his one true love, Fran, in 2007 and spent the happiest years of his life with her. He was a member of Salem Alliance Church.
Don is survived by Frances Wallace, her loving grandson Gary and his wife Gina, sisters-in-law Patricia Bremer and Pam Bremer, three nieces and one nephew with their families. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Jack and Robert.
Don leaves a legacy of memories that will be cherished for a lifetime by those who had the privilege to know him.
