Dorothy L. Way

January 5, 1930 - October 9, 2017

Dorothy passed away of congestive heart failure aged 87 at Windsong Memory Care Home in Salem Oregon.
Born to Elmer & Hazel Lindstrom in Aurora Illinois, Dorothy Ruth was the second of two daughters. After her father passed away when she was age nine, her mother and sister, Shirley, moved to Rosemead California. Her mother remarried and Dorothy eventually met the love of her life, in the person of Norman Way. They married on January 27, 1951 from which they had three children: Teresa, Laurie & Brian. The family lived in the cities of San Dimas and Orange California. Dorothy was a model homemaker. She was active in St. Paul's Lutheran Church where her children were raised. She loved the Lord Jesus and lived her life in the service to others. She was seemingly tireless in her efforts to please people. Dorothy was a people person and enjoyed the company of everyone she met. She famously would greet new friends with, "Hi, I'm Dorothy Way but there's only one way, Jesus, He's the Way the Truth and the Life". Dorothy enjoyed keeping her home orderly and clean, singing music, tending her beloved roses and caring for children. Upon Norm's retirement they spent ten years on the road in their RV to see the country. They then moved to Salem Oregon where they were to live out their remaining golden years. Dorothy loved her new church home, Salem Heights, morning devotionals and listening to christian radio broadcasts. She proceeded her husband in death and leaves her three children, four grandchildren, nine great- grandchildren and countless others that were touched by the love of life that emanated from her. She will be missed by all!

375 Madrona Ave. S. Salem, Oregon 97302 on Saturday, October 21st, 2017 at  1l:00am. Lunch reception to follow.
