Rosa Marina Alcazar

July 4, 1949 - September 21, 2017

Rosa Marina Alcazar was an amazing beautiful woman who joined heaven on September 21st, 2017. Rosa was born in Los Angles California on July 4th, 1949 to Daniel and Marina Gardea. She was the middle child of 5 having one brother and three sisters who all grew up in Belflower California. She attended Belflower high school and was on the drill team than went off to Cerritos College and later transferring to UCLA to study to be a teacher. Rosa was a waitress in her younger years and than began work at McDonald Douglas (now Boeing) as an Administrative Assistant. She continued to work there until she moved to Oregon in 1987 with her two sons to join her younger Sister and Parents settling in Salem.

Eight months later she had a daughter and continued working for the State of Oregon as an Accountant. She was very active at St. Joseph's Church helping teach catechism and being the lead lector. If she wasn't helping run little league with her sons or shopping with her daughter, Rosa survived on a wing and a prayer. Anyone she was around would know that her sense of humor was her greatest trait and would make anyone and everyone laugh.

She is survived by her children, Reyes Alcazar, Mario Alcazar and Sarah VanOvereem and her seven grand children.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Please make any donations in lieu of flowers to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
