Richard Alvin Wolke

September 18, 1948 - August 8, 2017


Richard was Born 18.Sep.1948 in Prineville, Oregon.  To Leonard and Bertha Wolke.  He is survived by his mother, Bertha Wolke; his siblings Jim Pat and Pam; his children Mark and Anna Sikel and Ben and Sara Wolke and his many grandchildren.
   
Richard spent his life in service to the military and his family.  After his graduation from high school he shipped straight out.  He spent active time in Vietnam from 1968-1970 as a member of the United States Army.  From 1971-1992 he found his true passion as a United States Navy Seabee.  After active duty, Richard made his mark on the professional word as an accountant for the Oregon National Guard Department of Defence. Throughout Richard’s life he lived each day with the highest of ethics, loyalty, integrity and pride.
 
Richard retired from the department of Defence in December of 2014.  From that time Richard found his passion in family and football.  He spent his last few years enjoying his grandchildren and watching football with his dear friend, Kathy.  He shared his love of fine wine and strong beer with many along the way.
 
Richard will be laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetery August 18th, 2017 at 11:30am.

A Celebration of life will be 6;00pm Monday, September 18th, 2017 at Willamette Valley Vineyard, where Richard was active for many years.  A special thanks to Willamette Valley Vineyards for hosting Dad's farewell party.  You are welcome to bring a picture and a memory.
