Rosemary Mildred Brown
July 23, 1926 - June 25, 2017
It is with great sadness that the family of Rosemary Brown announce her passing, on Sunday, June 25, 2017, in her Salem home.
Rosemary was born in Clarkston, Washington to Fred and Mary Rainville. She was one of eight children. Growing up during the Depression in such a large family was a challenge, but her memories from those years and her family were very important to her.
Rosemary met the love of her life, Bill Brown, and after his discharge from serving as an Army Ranger in World War II, they were married on November 7, 1945, and celebrated 70 years of marriage together in 2015. They had four children. Rosemary worked at the Lewiston Morning Tribune as Classified office manager for many years, while raising her family. Bill and Rosemary worked very hard together but loved to have fun too! Every year they would make 100’s of wooden craft items to sell at the Christmas bazaars. Rosemary and Bill enjoyed camping with their family at Williams Lake, traveling the country with close friends, and taking special trips to Australia and Hawaii. Rosemary loved life and had many pleasures including fishing, playing bingo, reading, working in her garden, and socializing with her numerous friends. She will be truly missed.
Rosemary is survived by her children; Ed (Mary) Brown, Jim (Marvel) Brown, Judy Boisselle, and Karen (Larry) Grieser; 8 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years Bill, who passed away on April 19th, 2016.
A Celebration of Life mass and rosary will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, 5303 River Rd., Keizer, OR 97303. Reception to follow. Private interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery.
