February 19, 1943 - June 22, 2017
Bruce Douglas Ramage was born in Salem Oregon February 19, 1943, to John “Jack” and Ruth Ramage. He was raised on the family farm in South Salem.
He attended Salem Heights, Leslie Jr. High and South Salem High Schools. He was active in the Boy Scouts and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 1962.
Upon high school graduation, he attended Willamette University. He graduated from Oregon State University in 1967 with a BA in business. He was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity.
Bruce is survived by ex-wife Kate; children Margaret, Stephanie Robert, Sarah and Matthew Lisa; grandchildren Chris Amy, Sean, Zachary, Mackenzie, Matthew, Lindsey; great grandchildren Bergen, Keely, Dillon and Owen; and his beloved canine companion Abby. His parents, sisters Linda and Judy, and grandson Alex preceded him in death.
Bruce worked as a broker in the lumber and plywood industry, and commodities for forty-plus years, eventually setting up his own business.
Beyond his family he had a passion for flying, earning his private pilot license in 1987. Bruce enjoyed wood-working and construction – skills he applied to the family home in Corvallis, and throughout his life. He was a voracious reader, quick witted and generous. Bruce was loved my many and will be missed.
A family graveside service will be held later this month. Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service is assisting the family.
