Eloise was born in Inglewood California to Marcus and Martha Findley. They moved back to Oregon after Eloise was born and settled on a dairy farm near Rickreall, Oregon. Eloise went to the school in Rickreall then to Willamette University earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics. Eloise met Stanley Homewood, a Marine, recovering for war injuries based at Camp Adair. After the war in 1945 they married and moved to Farmington Ohio for a few years before returning to the Salem area.
Eloise and Stanley had two sons Thomas in 1947 and Paul in 1950. Both Eloise and Stanley enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping and hunting. They always had a contest to see who could catch the most fish. Eloise more often than not won the contests. After Stanley retired, Eloise and Stanley traveled the US extensively towing their travel trailer and making four complete trips to the east coast. They visited almost all the states, toured through Europe and would winter in Anaheim, California, stopping to visit relatives going down and coming back. The best thing was Eloise’s kind personality. Anywhere they went she made friends and enjoyed meeting new people.
Eloise is survived by her two sons, a grandson Chris Homewood and his three children, and Tom’s two children Chris, Jerusha and Chris’ son Liam.
