Loren Leslie Hilderbrand

October 20, 1955 - April 30, 2017

Loren Leslie Hilderbrand, age 61 resided in Salem Oregon, died on Sunday, April 30, 2017. Loren passed while he was on one last adventure with his daughter, son-in-law, brother, and friend Kristen. His latest desire was to go swimming and as always determined to see it through. After a memorable swim, while leaving the pool he suffered a brain hypoxia injury. After spending several days in the hospital with family and friends and ex-wife, he passed peacefully and surrounded with love.
Loren was a very adventurous young man, whom loved to ride and race dirt bikes. He often told many stories of adrenaline-packed events. After meeting the love of his life Vicki Lorraine Waters, he quickly proposed with a piece of beautiful property in Stayton, Oregon. He would eventually build their dream home there. Ten months after welcoming his only daughter Amanda into the world, Loren found himself as a paraplegic due to a diving accident in 1984. As an accomplished metal worker, carpenter and computer drafter he went back to school after the life-changing injury to get a degree in drafting from Chemeketa. He then started his construction business with his wife, called "Wheels of Design".  He built and contracted over 200 homes in the Willamette Valley.  He always found time to teach and share his favorite hobbies with his family. He enjoyed hunting, boating, and even swimming as a paraplegic. His family made many years of scenic memories raising animals on their farm in Stayton, horseback riding,  camping at Detroit lake and Mt. Jefferson wilderness.

Loren is survived by his parents Les and Lorna Hilderbrand, Daughter Amanda Haven and son-in-law Ryan Haven, Brother Linn Hilderbrand and ex-wife Vicky Wanner.

Loren's wishes were to have his ashes spread around his grandparents pond on the family farm in Adair, followed by a celebration of his life.
