Renee A Chappell

September 27, 1966 - April 24, 2017

Renee Law Chappell lived a life that she filled with love and light. She was born in Minot, ND in 1966 to parents Robert and Donna Law, and she died too soon at the age of 50, in Salem, OR on April 24, 2017. She left behind family and friends who miss her deeply, carry her smile in their hearts, and can still hear her laughter ringing in their ears.

Renee spent her childhood in Minot and moved to Burnsville, MN as a teenager where she graduated from high school. Very early in her life she developed a passion for working with children. She worked as a nanny for several families, and developed lifelong relationships with the children she cared for. As a young woman, she moved to Eugene, OR, attended college, and earned degrees in Early Childhood Education and Child & Family Studies. She worked for several years at River Road Parks in Eugene, taking care of kids in the Youth Programs, and teaching them how to be happy. That was Renee's specialty - teaching kids how to be happy! She married Patrick Chapppell in 2003 and moved to Salem, OR where she worked as a Head Start teacher for twelve years.

Family meant everything to Renee. She leaves behind her husband Patrick, daughter Samantha, son-in-law Tyler, granddaughter Ambri, siblings Randa, Robert, Rochelle, Rayette, Keith, Char, Dale and Randy, as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

The funeral service will be Friday, May 5, at 1:00 at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service, located at 605 Commercial Street SE, Salem, OR. Private interment will be at Belcrest Memorial Park.

I am so sorry to hear of Renee's passing. Growing up with the Law family in Minot brings back so many fond memories. Prayers of support to her family. Sue Leith Weston

We were so sorry to hear about Renee.  We send all our sympathy at this time.  May God give you comfort in the difficult days ahead.
We remember Renee so well, exactly like the pictures of the pretty dark hair and bangs.  That was many years ago.
With all our prayers and concern.
