Agnes Ann "Nancy" Price
December 22, 1925 - February 3, 2017
Nancy died peacefully on February 3, 2017, surrounded by family.
She was born at home on the family farm in Collyer, Kansas. She acquired a work ethic on the farm that she carried through her entire life.
As fate would have it, she met the love of her life (Howard Price) at Collyer High School. She attended Fort Hays State University, majored in music with an emphasis in piano and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Iota, women’s music fraternity.
After World War ll she married Howard Price and they settled in Salem.
They joined St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where she has been a parishioner for over 70 years. She held many positions in the church but her favorite was singing in the church choir which she did for decades
She was active in many civic and charitable organizations including but not limited to Salem Junior Women’s Club, Oregon State University Extension Service, Illahee Hills Country Club charter member and Salem Bridge Club, in which she attained Life Master Status. They had season football and basketball tickets to the Oregon State Beavers for many years and also enjoyed cheering for the Oregon Ducks. She loved gardening and every year grew beautiful flowers that filled her large patio. She was an excellent cook who took great pride in her cakes.
While busy with these activities, make no mistake, her focal point of her life was her family. She was everyone’s Nana who dedicated her whole life to her family.
Nancy is survived by her children: David Price (Aileen), Craig Price (Kathy), Rita Price, Debra Hajjar (Mark); grandchildren: Julie Morrow (Andrew), Ty Hajjar (Julie), Howard Price, Jake Price, Kip Hajjar (Brooke), Macy Ciszek (Quentin), Shelby Price; and 11 great grandchildren.
Nancy affectionately called the Bonaventure of Salem, “Home Sweet Home” where she was nicknamed “Fancy Nancy”. The family would like to thank the caring staff for their friendship during the last 4 years.
Funeral will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 10:00 am on February 6, 2017. Private inurnment will be held at City View Cemetery.
