Gerald D. Cranford

July 5, 1923 - December 6, 2016

Gerald "Jerry" D. Cranford 93 of Salem, Oregon, died December 6, 2016.  Born in Portland, Oregon to Walter and Fern (Streitt) Cranford. His family moved near to Grass Valley, California where he grew up. After attending Sierra Jr. College in Auburn, California, he worked as a lineman with the telephone company. Jerry served his country as a Sargent in the Signals Corps, during WWII, installing communication lines for General Patton’s forces in the European Theater.

 Jerry was married to Lenora Solus of Mt. Shasta, California area, for 50 years.  They had 5 children together and raised them in Salem, Oregon, where they settled.  Jerry worked in management for the Public Works Dept. of the City of Salem, Oregon, where he retired.  After his wife Lenora died Jerry met and married Linda Goff of Tillamook, Oregon.

 Jerry’s passion was his family and his local church, where he served as Deacon & later a Local Elder.  One of his favorite scriptures was, 1 John 2:17,  “..: but he that does the will of God abides for ever.”  

 Jerry is survived by his current wife of 18 years, Linda (Goff) Cranford.  His & Lenora’s children, Sharon Charland, Donna Stubblefield, Sandra Lankford & Karl Cranford, 12 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren.  Also sister’s Nora Cranford & Charlotte Langeberg.  Their daughter Jamie DeZur, died in 2004.

 Jerry’s spiritual guidance, love, humor & wisdom will be greatly missed.
