John Wesley Davis
February 19, 1948 - November 29, 2016
Born to Harold and Sally Davis, and raised in Salem, John passed away at home, spending his last few days with his wife Peggy, who he loved and married in 2006. He loved spending time with family and friends. He was a Vietnam veteran and served proudly in the U.S. Navy and upon discharged spent many years working in various foundries for which he truly enjoyed. John was loyal, very giving, immensely funny and lived his life with no regrets. Terminal illness took him too soon with unfinished projects and travels.
He is survived by his brother Randy Davis and family, numerous nieces and nephews, Jeff Londberg and Thad Giddens in particular, and cousins, Pam and Nancy and dear friends Bob and Marge Brunsman. He is also survived by his long time good friend and brother-in law, Larry Marecek and his wife Marcia, step-daughters Carolyn (Todd) Cook, Colleen (Gary) Till and two wonderful grandsons, Robert and Stephen Till. They were John's "merry band of men" and he was so proud of them. He loved them all as his own.
Per his request, no funeral will be held. Family and friends will gather at Willamette National Cemetery on Dec. 7th at 1:30 p.m. for burial with military honors. Assisting is Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
Remember John with laughter, hot dogs and a cold beer!
I love you John, and miss you so much!
