Peter G. Tveit
January 1, 1919 - November 13, 2016
Peter Gerard Tveit came into this world on January 1st,1919, in the little town of Carbonado,Washington. He grew up in Port Angeles, Washington. Peter served his country during WWII.
When he returned from the war he met Ruth Kinne at the University of Oregon and they were soon married. He went on to graduate from Linfield College, taught at Waldo Middle School and retired in 1983. He was a world traveler, loved going places. Traveled to every continent in the world.
Peter outlived three wives along his journey . He is survived by his sister Marie Beaver of Portland, and his four children; Thom Tveit, Yvonne Medrano and Sonja Tapp all of Salem and Peter Tveit of Las Vegas. His six grandchildren; Monica, Susan, Peter, Paul, Raymond and Joshua; and four great-grandchildren; Samantha, Emily, Kristopher and Hunter.
He fought the good fight, always with a smile, a song and a tale. Peter enriched all of our lives and he will be greatly missed.
On November 13th, 2016 at the age of 97, he went on one final journey; the most important trip of all. He went home for all eternity.

A graveside service in his honor will be on Monday, December 5th at 12:30 p.m. at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Assisting the family is Virgil T.Golden Funeral Service.
