The daughter of Elmer and Mabel Daarud, she was born in Bloomington, MN, the oldest of seven children and they later moved to Iowa and North Dakota. On May 29, 1942, she married Clarence Glen Wildfang in Bismarck, ND. In 1947 they moved to Kirkland, WA, and in 1970 settled in Rochester, WA. After 64 years of marriage Glen died in 2006. Moving from a mid-west farm to the Seattle area, she was thrilled to have a career at Boeing while raising her family well, including baking bread and entertaining family and friends often. When she and Glen moved to a ranch in Rochester, she joined garden club, founded a pinochle group, gardened and canned, took up oil and tole painting, and always welcomed her family with hugs, laughs and home baked goodies. Upon retirement she and Glen traveled to Europe, Canada, Alaska and more, and toured many states in their motorhome. She attended Community Church of God and Central Bible Evangelical Church, both in Centralia, WA.
