John Thomas Chambers

April 25, 1997 - July 8, 2016

John was known by all to be a quiet peaceful soul who was often the jester for his friends and family.  His grin was mischievous and infectious.  He enjoyed life with his family, friends and teammates by his side.
John’s passion was soccer.  He played the game from YMCA rookies days at the age of 2 or 3, and was a current member of the Oregon State University men’s soccer team and was looking forward to his upcoming sophomore campaign with the Beavers.  He was fortunate to have played for Cascade Futbol Club’s Boca Jr.’s for many years, helping them to six consecutive state championships and regional appearances.  He also played for the Portland Timbers’ Academy squad prior to joining the Beavers.
John attended Queen of Peace elementary school, Judson Middle School, and Sprague High School, graduating early to enroll for winter term and spring soccer at Oregon State.
John would be pleased if in lieu of flowers, you would send a donation to the scholarship fund at Cascade Futbol Club so others could enjoy the benefits of their wonderful programs.
A memorial celebration will be held at 2 p.m. at Cascade Futbol Club, 5201 State Street, Salem, Or. 97317, on Sunday, July 17th.  Please wear your CFC/Beavers/Timbers gear.
