Pollyanna Platt of Salem, Oregon, passed away in her home on May 11, 2016 at the age of 92. Polly was born August 31, 1923 in Los Angeles, CA to Harry and Lillian Allen. She came to Oregon at age 12 and lived in Grants Pass where she attended and graduated school in 1941. She married Hampton Platt June 21, 1941 until his death March 2005. “H” and Polly moved to Salem in 1952. Polly was active in St. Joseph’s Parish in Salem and then St. Mary’s in Shaw. She was secretary for Serra Catholic High School in the 1960’s. Polly became a Registered Nurse in 1971 and worked at Salem Hospital for a period of time.
Polly Married Juan Perez on May 25, 2007 and she is survived by her husband Juan Perez; three children Candice Adams of Bend, Janice Roberts of Salem, and Lee Platt of Moody, TX; three grand-children Christina Courchesne, Nicole Adams, and Luke Roberts; three great-grand-children Joseph Adams, Cassandra Courchesne, and Victoria Courchesne; one great-great-grandson Roman Adams; a niece and three nephews; and dear friends Steve and Jeanette Gardner.
Funeral services will be at St. Mary’s Church of Shaw Wednesday May 18, 2016 with a rosary at 10:30 and celebration at 11:00 AM. A reception follows at the church hall. Contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Church, Shaw.Arrangements are by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
