Virginia "Ginny" Williams
August 11, 1922 - April 8, 2016
The youngest of five children, Virginia was born in 1922 to John & Elsie (Scovill) Jennings in Corvallis, OR. Her parents were from a pioneering family in Tillamook County. She attended OSU, and while there met her future husband Vernon Stiner.
During WWII, they both served in the Navy, marrying in 1944. After the war ended they started their family, Edward, Larry and Teresa. When Vernon passed in 1961, the family moved to Anacortes, WA. Ginny met and married Harry Wesely in 1965, and they lived in Salem, OR. They divorced in 1973.
Ginny met Gene Williams in 1974, married and enjoyed their 33 years together. Gene & Ginny were long-time members of the Chemeketans hiking group. Spending many happy days enjoying the outdoors including fishing and travels including trips to Europe, Nova Scotia, the Grand Canyon and 2 trips to New Zealand, where they hiked the Milford trail. After Gene passed in 2007, Ginny moved to Madrona Hills where she enjoyed life among her many good friends, including her wonderful friend Joanne Brown and her cat AJ. She is survived by her son Edward (Lori), son Larry, daughter Teresa, 4 grand children and 3 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Madrona Hills, 707 Madrona Ave. SE. A graveside service with military honors will be at 12:30 PM on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Willamette National Cemetery.
