Anne M Speer
February 19, 1921 - February 13, 2016
Anne M Speer, beloved family member and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 13th at Providence Benedictine in Mt. Angel, Oregon. Anne was six days shorts of turning 95 years old.
Born in 1921, Trail BC, Canada, she was the youngest child of Alex and Patricia Densky. Anne enlisted in the Canadian Women’s Army Corps and was a Sergeant from 1942-1944. During WWII, she married Dwight C Speer in 1944, Sacramento, CA and later became a US Citizen in 1949, in Spokane, WA. Anne also resided in Medford, Portland, Lincoln City, Salem, and Mt. Angel, Oregon.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dwight C Speer, daughter, Janet R Sloan, and survived by her granddaughter, Laura A Sloan of Scottsdale, AZ.
Gardening, cooking, music, lunch with friends, and baseball were her true favorite passions.
Anne had requested no funeral services and her wish was to be cremated by Virgil T Golden Funeral Services. The scattering of ashes will take place at a later date. Anne’s family extends their gratitude to and suggests donations be made directly to Providence Benedictine Nursing Center Foundation in Mt. Angel, OR.
