Del was born in Puyallup, Washington on February 20, 1926 to Clifford and Alberta Ruscher. In his early years he lived in Winlock, Washington. Later he and his parents moved to Coos Bay, Oregon where he graduated from high school. Soon after he enlisted into the U.S. Army. He reenlisted later in his 20's when he fought in the Korean War.
Del managed Northgate Bowling Alley for several years. He enjoyed bowling and bowled 300 games a couple of times. He also enjoyed golf and was an avid reader.
Del's family and friends were very important to him. In 2002 he and his wife Tudie traveled throughout the U.S. with their travel trailer. This was a very special dream come true for them.
Survivors include wife Tudie Ruscher, daughters Debby (Bill) Sheirbon, Teri (Chris) Andersen and Julie Ruscher; grandchildren Brent and Dawn Sheirbon and Luke and Claudia Andersen as well as step-sons Tim Ferrando, Tom (Priscilla) Ferrando, Tully Ferrando, Tyler (Rene) Ferrando and Toby Ferrando.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Northgate Bowl from l:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Please come, enjoy refreshments, and celebrate Del’s life by sharing memories with each other. For bowlers there will be a “Del’s Memory Lane Bowling Tournament.”
