Dorothy E. Biskie

November 2, 1922 - February 25, 2016

Dorothy Evelyn was born on November 2, 1922 on the family homestead claim ranch outside Upton in Weston County, Wyoming, to Lavern and Marianne Butts.  She graduated from Campbell County High School in Gillette, Wyoming, where she was active in 4-H.  She remained in Gillette through World War II, then moved to Salem in 1946 with her mother.  Her sister Lucille soon followed.
After growing up in eastern Wyoming, Dorothy couldn’t believe it when she saw flowers (camellias) blooming in January, and she truly loved all the flowers and green of the Willamette Valley.
Dorothy also developed a life-long passion and love for the Oregon Coast.  She and Bob were married April 30, 1955 and they honeymooned along the coast.  They enjoyed many anniversary trips there, and son Howard also shared many nice trips to the beach with her.
Bob and Dorothy moved into their home in Keizer in January, 1957, which is where she passed peacefully on February 25, 2016.
Dorothy loved to travel and made several trips to visit cousins in England.  She also enjoyed a number of trips to Hawaii with Howard and daughter Julie.
Dorothy was preceded in death by husband Robert, sister Lucille, and brother Howard.  She is survived by daughter Julie and son Howard, both of Salem.
A graveside service will be held 2:00pm Saturday, March 5th at City View Cemetery.  Contributions in Dorothy’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.

Howard and Julie, I am so very sorry to learn this morning about Dorothy's passing. You were wonderful children--your Mom was blessed to have you in her life. My prayers and love are with you both.

Julie, I was saddened to read about your mother's passing.  I hope you're doing okay and am glad you enjoyed so much meaningful time together in recent months.
