Lyle Dierks passed away on January 29, 2016 at the age of 91. He was born in McLean, Nebraska on August 6, 1924 and had one brother and four sisters, three of whom are still living. He graduated from North Salem High School and served in the Navy in the 2nd World War. He was employed as a refrigeration engineer and worked in both Salem and South Kaknek, Alaska. He was an avid bowler and was able to continue bowling into the last year of his life. His hobbies also included hunting, fishing and farming. He enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was married to his wife. Marie, for 70 years and they celebrated their anniversary together with their children just three days before he passed away. A son, David, preceded him in death. In addition to his wife, he leaves behind three children, seven grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5, 2016 at Belcrest Memorial Park. “God saw that he was getting tired and now his hardworking hands are at rest.” He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
