Bill went on to attend Los Angeles City College, California State College at Los Angeles and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. In preparation for a distinguished career in business, he passed the CPA exam.
Bill married the love of his life, Jeanine Cashell, in Hollywood, California in 1963. They later moved their family from Los Angeles to Tucson, Arizona and ultimately settled in Salem, Oregon to raise their four children.
