Arlene Marjorie (Andersen) Foley
July 17, 1932 - January 7, 2019
Arlene Foley went to be with our Lord on January 7, 2019 in her home due to heart failure. Born Arlene Andersen to Raulph and Marjorie (Rustad) Andersen on July 17, 1932, in Staten Island, New York.
After high school she worked as a typist until she married Douglas Foley on September 13, 1953. She stayed home to raise their three children. Her husband died November 1985.
Arlene worked for AMF Corp in New Jersey in the production of sports equipment, The Plainsboro, N. J. School District in maintenance and as a rental agent in East Windsor, N. J. She moved to Falls City, Oregon in 1993 and lived near her daughter and son-in-law where she assisted with their aviary business, then moved to West Salem in 2004 and then to Dallas, Oregon in 2019.
Arlene was a devoted and caring mother and wife, enjoying family, friends, church and Bible studies, getting together with friends and crocheting heirloom afghans. She volunteered for a short time for the church’s food bank, but the onset of dementia caused her to quit. She loved helping people, friends, and family. Her sense of humor delighted all who knew her. She will be missed by many.
Arlene is preceded in death by her husband, sister Norma Ryan of New Jersey, her half-sister Vivian Rivera of New York City.
She is survived by her sons Douglas and Steven Foley of Hightstown, New Jersey and daughter Diane Bohnyak of Dallas, Oregon, three grandchildren and one great grandson.
Her ashes will be placed near her husband in New Jersey. She was a wonderful mother and we will see her again in heaven.
Assisting the family is Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
