Kay Lindsey Lewellyn

November 26, 1936 - January 10, 2018

Our dear Kay passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 11:15 PM, after a long battle with dementia.  Kay was born November 26, 1936 in Cut Bank,  Montana, the daughter of Edwin and Margaret “Bunny” Lindsey .  The family moved to North Dakota where she attended grade school in Fargo, North Dakota.  The family then moved to Salem, Oregon.  Kay graduated from Salem High School.  She then worked as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone.  She went on to work as a travel agent.  She traveled around the world in that position.  Kay was joined as a family by her brother Jeff and sister Renee.  Kay married Bob Stevens in 1957.  They had two children, Brian and Chris Stevens.  They later separated.  In 1986 Kay married Del Lewellyn.   This was a very happy union.  Kay and Del took many cruises, fishing and camping trips and for 16 years, spent their winters in Palm Springs, California.  Kay is survived by husband Del, son Chris (Annie), brother Jeff, 3 grandchildren and so many friends. Kay loved to play Bridge, read books, work puzzles and work in her flower garden.   Our hearts are broken and we will miss her sweet soul.  Del wishes to thank Bonaventure Memory Care for their loving care of Kay.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Kindred Hospice, 2925 River Road S., Salem, OR., 97302.  “Painful though parting be…I bow to you as I see you off in distant clouds.”  A Celebration of Life for Kay will be Saturday February 2, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Virgil T. Golden.  Private interment will take place at Belcrest Memorial Park.  Assisting the family is Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
