MELISSA ANN MARSHALL

June 10, 1954 - October 6, 2018


After battling cancer for many years,  Melissa passed away peacefully on October 6, 2018 in her home at Redwood Heights surrounded by her friends and family.

The family extends their gratitude to all caretakers and administration at Redwood Heights for all of their excellent care, and also to the staff at Physicians and Surgeons Building. The family would also like to extend their gratitude to Willamette Valley Hospice.

Melissa began her life on June 10,1954 in Vallejo, California and was born to Dorothy and Harvey Young. Her father was a Navy Chief and moved his family quite often. He finally moved his family to Oregon in the summer of 1962 where they settled down and called it home. Melissa graduated in 1972 from Corvallis High school and began her journey in many professions. Bookkeeping was her specialty but she gained a career in pharmacy in her later years. The greatest profession she achieved was that of being a loving and wonderful mother and grandmother. Her faith was of great importance in her life and she shared it with anyone who came through. Her love for all of those in her life and who crossed paths with her could be felt with every word she shared.

She is survived by her children Lorian Perez, Jason Johnson, Lavicy Young, and Lournay Marshall, along with her 23 grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Also by her sister Sonya Bisgaard brother in law Danny B her brothers Frank Young (Anita),  Christen Young (Chris), and Terry Young. She will be greatly missed by all her knew her. 

A celebration of life will be held in her honor on November 4th, 2018 at 2 pm in the dining hall of Redwood Heights Living Facility. The address is 4050 12th st Cutoff SE Salem, Or 97302. Any and all her friends and family are welcome to attend.
