Roy "Ray" Webster
May 15, 1931 - November 6, 2015
Ray was born in Devon, Kansas. He moved to Oregon as a baby with his parents Roy and Bertha Webster. He lived in Salem all of his life. He was in the Navy during the Korean War, where he met his wife Jackie while stationed at the Naval Air Base in Alameda, CA. They married on Feb. 4, 1955 and moved back to Salem in 1956 and lived here since that time. He worked for Rickreall farm Supply for many years and went to work for the City of Salem on the Fire Department, retiring after 31 years as a Captain. He belonged to the Salem Eagles Lodge #2081, the Salem Elks Lodge #336, the American Legion Post #9, the 40 and 8, and the Capital Area Mustang Club.
He is survived by Jackie, his wife of over 60 years, daughter Susan Bakke and son Steven Webster. Also surviving are granddaughter Nicole Webster and Mandy Morlan Ben, Grandson Bradley Webster Katherine, six great granddaughters Tatum, Elizabeth, Alexandra, Makayla, Nissa and Sati. He was predeceased by parents Roy and Bertha, brother Robert Webster and sister Lois Holmes and great granddaughter Destiny.
Services are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 14, with visitation on Friday, November 13 from 1:00 – 5:00 pm at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Gentiva Hospice, 2925 River Rd. #100, Salem, Oregon 97302.
