Edna K. Ehrensing
August 25, 1918 - February 5, 2018
Born in Missouri and educated at Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and St. Louis University. She married Alvin T. Ehrensing of New Orleans, LA and produced four sons and a daughter. In retirement, Al and Edna became world travelers.
She was an avid reader and gardener and for sixty years, a dedicated volunteer worker for schools, hospitals, libraries and museums.
Preceding her in death is her daughter, Lisa in 1953; husband, Alvin in 1997; son Daryl in 2009 and son Dwight in 2017.
Survivors include two sons and two daughters-in-law, Dwight’s wife Bettie of Roseburg, OR; Keith and Pamela of Beaverton, OR and Greg of Corte Madera, CA; Laura Meek (long-time companion to Daryl) of Albany, OR; two sisters, Monica Koch of Bridgeton, MO and Mrs. Vincent Nephew of Potosi, MO as well as many extended family members in both St. Louis and New Orleans.
A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00am Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Salem, OR. Edna will be entombed in a family vault at Metarie Cemetery in New Orleans, LA.
Assisting is Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, Edna asked that you please “whisper a prayer for world peace and salvation for humanity.”
