Dorothy Dean BramlettDorothy Dean Bramlett , 94, of King City, OR, passed away September 11, 2021. Prior to living in King City she lived in the Salem/Keizer area for most of the past 60 years. She was known by many of her friends as Dotty and her father always called her Jo.
She was born to the late Obie and Beatrice Burkhart on August 27, 1927 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Her family later moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico when she was a young girl. She met Virgil Bramlett in Albuquerque when they were young teenagers. Dorothy married the late Virgil Bramlett on August 9, 1944 in San Diego, California while he was on leave from the Navy during World War ll.
Dorothy is predeceased by two sons, Carl Bramlett and Virgil Bramlett Jr. She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Schauss of Portland, OR, granddaughter Angela Holm, grandsons Jason Bramlett, Brannon Schauss and Marcus Schauss, great grandchildren Steven Holm, Nicholas Holm and Alexus Peterson and her beloved dog, Scooby Doo.
She was known as a loving and caring person who enjoyed keeping a meticulous home and yard that were often described as something out of a Home & Garden magazine. Dorothy was in volved in security work for years and truly was born prior to her time as she would have enjoyed a career in the field of law enforcement. She worked closely with the Salem Police Department and Sheriffs office during her years in the security field.
Dorothy had a very good sense of humor and enjoyed laughter as part of her life. Her kindness and sweet personality were known to many. She will be missed.
Her family takes comfort she is at peace in the arms of the Lord and reunited with her husband and two sons.

I lived on Meadow Park Loop for years, shared my backyard fence with Dotty. She was a thoughtful, engaged human being. Always had a kind word for me and for my four children.
