Danny was a long time friend and classmate in our years in Roseburg. We were teammates on the schools baseball team and spent many hours on the field, on buses, and in each others home. We renewed contact when our children became friends at OSU. My wife, Bev, and I extend our condolences to the family. Denny will be missed.
I will never forget my 20th Birthday because Denny cooked a great stir fry for my family and I as if we were paying 500.00 a plate. His great attitude and kidding personality made the whole evening a great memory. I try to emulate that when I cook for friends and family. Sharing times with Denny In Wallowa at ‘the hilltop’ were always the best of times. I’ll miss him!
I met Denny in the early 80’s through Ted Mckillip when I had just graduated from college and moved Oregon from Memphis. He took me in as a friend, was always kind to everyone and had a great sense of humor. A special chair, built to Denny’s specifications will be placed atop Smith Mountain, in his honor. You will be missed, my friend.
