Carol A Morris

January 4, 1934 - September 19, 2018

<!--if gte mso 9> Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 <!endif-->Carol A. Morris was born 1/4/34 the oldest of 3 children to James and Dorothy Hardie, long time residents of Salem.
Carol Morris died peacefully Sept 19 2018 in Salem Oregon under the care of Willamette Valley Hospice. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Max L. Morris, on Dec 23, 2016. Carol was born in Salem and spent most of her life there. She attended Englewood Elementary School and graduated from then Salem High School North. Carol attended Lewis and Clark College, and graduated from Oregon State University. Carol and Max met in college and married while Max was finishing his teaching internship. They lived and worked in Salem for 6 years then moved to Palm Springs CA where Carol was trained and worked as an EKG technician while Max taught high school. After ten years they returned to Salem where Carol worked at the Statesman Journal newspaper and Max taught high school. The couple had 4 children – 3 boys and one girl. Carol had many interests and was an excellent seamstress, cook, and artist. She enjoyed camping and fishing. She usually attended the Nazarene Church. During her life Carol often volunteered in a variety of community efforts.
Carol is survived by her younger brother, James Hardie, her 4 children, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grand children. The family will hold a private memorial. Donations may be made to the Garten Foundation of Salem Oregon on behalf of Max L. and Carol A. Morris.
